For the Week of February 5th

Trip Alert!

Dear JCOS Families,                                                                                                      February 4, 2017

Our spring 4/5 IA trip dates have changed! New dates are April 24th through the 27th

Our trip will be to John Martin Reservoir campground.

We need parents who want to spend a special time camping with our JCOS kids. If you are interested in coming on our trip please let your child’s advisor know by conferences, if possible. We are in need of driver’s so letting us know how many you will be able to take is helpful to our planning.

We leave Monday morning, April 24th around 9:00am and return the 27th by 2:30, hopefully.

Description of campsite:

Welcome to John Martin Reservoir State Park, an oasis on the plains of southeastern Colorado. Located in the Lower Arkansas River Valley, visitors come to John Martin to take advantage of modern campgrounds, great fishing, uncrowded boating waters, diverse wildlife, and to see historical signs of the past.

For current conditions and more information, please visit the John Martin Reservoir website:

What Matters to Me Projects

Our “What Matter Projects” have begun. We have given each student a calendar of due dates and up coming events in order to help with organization. I will also send a calendar home with them to coordinate any out of school time that may come up during this project.

Two Rats and 18 Kids

Hopefully you’ve heard about the fundraiser by Cedric and Davian to acquire two rats. The fundraisers will be Tuesday and Friday after school. We are asking for baked goods to be dropped off and if any adults are interested in helping Michele, that would be great! Thanks from Kristie’s Advising.
